Take your keys and glasses, too
I've seen this trick, this cheeky crime
Leaving something of yours behind
So you can return in one week's time
To choke the violet crocuses into the mud
And streak your violent sky with their blood
Wiping it across your foolish grin
But I swear I won't fall for that one again

So, February, take your tartan scarf
Your Nordic gloves and grandma's sweater
You thought me easy but I knew better
Then to be faked out by a thing like weather
Your bluster, your kiss, your cold shoulder
Impressed me once but
